Rufus Hound is a well-known stand-up and TV presenter whose recent work includes the comedy show Argumental and the BBC Radio 4 show My Teenage Diary.
Beginning his career not as a comedian but as a TV presenter Rufus Hound first came into the public eye in the early 2000’s when he worked as a presenter for BBC shows such as Top of the Pops, Grime Scene Investigation and Destination Three. He provided the broadcasters coverage of the Glastonbury Festival and made frequent appearances on Never Mind the Buzzcocks and the ITV series Celebrity Juice.
Hound joined the comedy panel show Argumental in 2008 working as the captain of the blue team, and has starred in his own comedy drama, Hounded, for the BBC’s children’s network CBBC, where he plays a TV presenter who must save the universe from the destructive plans of an evil doctor.
Best-known for his work as a TV entertainer Rufus Hound has furthered his public image by appearing on numerous reality TV series, including All Star Mr & Mrs, and, most notably, Strictly Come Dancing: the Christmas Special, which he won with partner Flavia Cacace in 2013.
As a comedian Rufus Hound makes regular television appearances and his debut DVD, Being Rude, was released to critical acclaim. Outside his work as a comedy entertainer Rufus Hound has also worked prolifically as a dramatic actor. His first acting role was in the straight to DVD film Big Fat Gypsy Gangster, more recently however he has accrued a great deal of success on the West End, appearing in productions of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and One Man, Two Guvners. It was announced in early 2015 that Hound would be appearing in the ninth season of Doctor Who.
