Since 1986, and working alongside her partner, she has introduced silhouette cutting to the corporate market and private hospitality world, so making it a popular form of entertainment (thereby opening the door to other artists). To this very day, Megumi is one of just a few artists who continue to promote the tradition of creating elegant silhouettes.
Megumis artistry also extends to Origami which she can perform at private and corporate events in the company of her husband Steve Biddle or as a solo artist. Megumi is a member of The British Origami Society, The Nippon Origami Association, The Japan Society and Equity. Her origami skills have taken her across the world, having performed in many European countries, plus Australia, the United States and Japan. She has recently received an international craft award for his contribution to the world of paper art.
Megumi was born in Hokkaido, Japan and from a young age has had a longstanding interest in painting, paper cutting/crafting, doll and flower making. While at high school, she studied oil painting under the private tuition of master painter, Professor Maruyama (a famous Japanese abstractionism artist). Due to Megumi winning many awards for her portrait and landscape painting, it was at Maruyama's recommendation; she became the youngest professional member of Japan's Artist Circle.
